What I liked
I loved the use of space. An aerialist would swing just above the audience. The side aisle was used as part of the stage. While attention was on one part of the stage, equipment was being changed. There was never a break in the play to change any apparatus and I did not even realize it was happening.
What I didn't like
The Wicked Witch needed to be in a lighter black or shiny black costume. She was so much fun to watch, but sometimes she lost in the dark.
My overall impression
Bravo! It was a thrill to see the story played out on various (five different) aerial arts equipment. There were spins and spectacles and take-your-breath-away-WOW! moments, often times all at once. Kudos to Colleen Dunleap, director and choreographer, who worked magic in a limited amount of space. I loved the close seating so I could see the entertainingly fun costumes and make-up and feel small next to the nine foot tall Glinda the Good Witch.
