What I liked

I liked the set up and setting. The city during crisis provided urgency to counter a relationship problem that seemed endless. The piano motif was beautiful and again, the performances were very strong and committed for what is emotionally demanding material.

What I didn't like

I didn’t completely get the sense of why this was a type of love the was ongoing or why they’d keep coming back to each other. They had certain moments of tenderness but I never fully got the “I am for you and you are for me” type of explanation I thought I would for such a tumultuous relationship.

My overall impression

Set against a city in turmoil, a couple deals with a crisis both in the moment and in the greater course of their relationship. Deeply emotional with beautifully committed performances.
