I loved how well both shows had little surprises that touched you right to the core.
What I didn't like
I wanted “Porch Swing” to be longer so I could enjoy those characters just that much more!
My overall impression
Two shows that go well with each other. Stand-out performances all around. Truly a must see of the Fringe this year. In the first piece, Julia Sanford gives us a very sweet sadness as she packs up her house that she’s having trouble saying good-bye to. The relationship between her and her daughter are very solid.
In the second piece, “This Almost Joy,” Carl Weintraub takes the lead and delivers one hell of a performance as he commands the audience from his first line. All three supporting actors and on point as this cast hits you right in the gut with this incredible story.
