What I liked

The twist at the end- I did not see that coming. I also enjoyed how the production chose to incorporate old boxing video footage throughout the story. It really helped put faces to the names that the character was describing.

What I didn't like

Perhaps some of the dialogue could be cut down a bit. The script provides lots of details and names of many famous boxers, which I think is great- if the audience has prior knowledge of boxing. But to someone like myself that knows very little, that much detail and that many names felt overwhelming at certain points. (But, that is just one audience member’s opinion. =) ) Because ultimately, the show isn’t about the history of boxing, it’s about Ronnie’s personal journey in discovering and accepting who he is.

My overall impression

Ronnie Brixton is very unique, creative, and well produced one man show. Having very little experience or knowledge of the boxing world- it was is impressive how invested I found myself in the material. I recommend!
