What I liked
Shattered Glass is a moving story the depicts two women as they rebuild their lives from domestic abuse. The unpacking of all their bags was the symbolism for their messy lives. But piece by piece, bit by bit, each character cleans up and rebuilds.
I loved the melodic serenade from Kelley Nicole and the powerful, and sometimes, witty spoken words from Shaunelle. Their duo brings to light that we are not alone in neither our struggles nor our perseverance to heal and create better lives. It’s time to shattered the glass of our pain and find the strength within yourself to live for and love your self – fully.
What I didn't like
I would have loved to see the guitar used more in her singing. The screen’s presence when it was not being used was at times distracting but the performances were so dynamic I forgot it about after a while.
My overall impression
Poignant! The multi-artist elements used in the telling of these women’s healing journeys give the play life, dimension and present a well-constructed work of art.
