Levatino is a beast. He might even be insane...but there is no arguing he is one genius bastard. I mean COME ON. A piece like this isn’t just scribbled willy nilly, it’s the product of both vision and methodical dicipline to both historical research and the craft of playwrighting. I would suggest that anyone who fancies themselves the next Mamet or Pinter, take their heads out of their asses and treat themselves to Meantime At Hojo’s and be humbled by the exciting work is being done by American playwrights today. First off, the dialogue is whip smart and akin to being in a steel dome while bullets ricochet off every curve. I didn’t know where these terms and lingo are coming from as they zipped past my ears, but just as much any the costume ...

A country, a culture, falls into an easy narrative about a shared historical event and replays it until it becomes a rut. By now, we all know Watergate is a story about brave journalists and a corrupt presidency. Huge credit goes to Gangbusters Theatre Co. for breaking out of the narrative and mounting this workshop production of MEANTIME AT HOJO's about some of the people damaged most by Richard Nixon's paranoia: the Plumbers.
Christian Levatino (who also wrote the play) delivers a performance of the Watergate break-in's architect, G. Gordon Liddy, that's as idiosyncratic as the man himself. Darrett Sanders deftly carries the moral center of the production in his portrayal of an uneasy E. Howard Hunt. As the doomed burglary begins, t...

If you don't know who Christian Levatino is... well this is your first mistake. Discovering his work is like being given a secret address to the coolest pop-up dinner in Los Angeles; and something extremely special.
This script is so well-researched, dense, and colorful. The story, with no concern for brevity, is a ticker; taking all the time it needs to explore philosophy, vintage hardware, and each character's backstory.
Acting, across the entire production, is beyond stellar; with easily the most talented cast at this festival. But especially Levatino. Those eyes, man.
I just feel truly honored to watch this show in its early stages and see some art from an artist that is truly worth watching.

We loved the show. Excellent writing and well cast. Christian Levitano (playwright & actor) enters and really excites with his wild presence as G. Gordon Liddy. The production is very creatively put together with video and music and cool use of light. This show is better written, acted and presented than most of the plays produced at major venues around the country. This play is so memorable, it sticks with you day after day, and deserves another production on a larger level....
