What I liked

I saw the show twice, so the first night my favorite scene by far was when the middle date guy was going on and on about how girls were so narcissistic while his date was taking selfies and boomarangs. The actress played that scene very knowingly, and you got the sense that she saw his narcissism and said two can play at that game. At the finale, I thought the chemistry between the waiter and Sergio was played up much more, so when he left his jacket at the end, the audience knew exactly what he was doing – the leave behind! So it was much funnier. I also got a huge kick out of the yogi girl’s character the second time around, while her date’s epic text message was hilarious both times! And the jokes about the actor guy not knowing Seoul was a city or confusing Equador for Equinox were so funny. That character was really well written and acted!

What I didn't like

The staging was quite tight, so sometimes it was hard to see both sides of a conversation.

My overall impression

First Dates was a show that really captured the full range of awkward that singles encounter in LA’s dating scene. The performances were great, the waiter’s little scenes were a riot, and the show was all around great fun!
