What I liked

The actors had their lines memorized. I laughed once. White men who were older than me were laughing throughout, so if you’re one of those you may like it. The title’s not bad.

What I didn't like

Except for the couples’ relationships to their partners, it was very unclear how any of the other characters knew each other or why they were subjecting themselves to this dinner party (even after the reveal at the end), which consisted of a large number of controversial topics being mentioned, not discussed (or sometimes perfunctorily discussed), and being dropped again. Rape, racism, homosexuality, the gun epidemic, religion, abortion, and more get the same treatment that breast cancer did in Tommy Wiseau’s “The Room.” In today’s climate, and Los Angeles’ modern theatrical climate, simply acknowledging that an issue is an issue is not enough to stand out. This play doesn’t have anything to say about any of these issues, and thus is not about anything. Any story that there is to speak of starts about halfway through, and if you have ever watched a play, movie, or TV show featuring drunk white people (or experienced them yourself) I would recommend skipping the first 50 minutes entirely.

My overall impression

Clickbait in dramatic form.
