My overall impression

This is a very funny, irreverent reflection on the 70s but I was amazed how much the script was a commentary on what is going on right now. The actors playing Tony Martini and Olive Newton John are a great match and they show off incredible acting chops in making us feel like they aren’t that good as they effortlessly negotiate (sing and dance) the twists and turns of brilliantly composed medleys. The duo of security guards are quiet but deadly funny in their protection of the stage. I wasn’t sure if they were protecting the performers from the audience or the audience from the performers. Speaking of reflections on the 70s, Martini & Olive’s manager sings a great song about being back in the era of crazy tv, celebrities, clothing etc. I found myself getting all nostalgic. The craziness of the evening hit its highest heights when a group of four swizzle stick dancers join Martini and Olive for the big numbers. These are really good comedic actors dressing up in some of the goofiest outfits and dancing around. Their enthusiasm is infectious and they helped in making my first visit to the Fringe a really great night out.
