What I liked

Pretty much everything! The direction is exceptional. The lighting is dramatic and so effective, but most of all Dan Ruth is brilliant as a writer and performer. You are really missing something special if you don’t see this!!!

What I didn't like

NOTHING.

My overall impression

A Life Behind Bars is a tour de force written and performed by Dan Ruth about his life as a actor/bartender living in Brooklyn, dealing with the changing landscape of NYC in the 90’s through the horrors of 9/11 and Dan’s personal journey with alcohol and getting sober. He brilliantly portrays many different characters, morphing in and out of them, weaving them into his life story seamlessly. I was taken on a ride with Dan that left me exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. It(HE) is brave, honest and powerful and it literally took my breath away. There is one more performance and I must say RUN, DON’T WALK, to go see this show Sunday at 12:00 noon at The Lounge Theatre!
