What I liked

All performers (band included) were at such a high level, it seemed they challenged each other to be better, and they were. It’s written very well, music and lyrics are incredible. Hardly noticed 90 minutes flew by. Audience wasn’t totally sure the show was over, most of us hoping there was more. Choreography fit very well, especially considering the space. One performance doesn’t stand out as I thought they all were pretty amazing.

What I didn't like

I had a minor casting concern in the beginning. I was expecting the redhead to be Squeaky and the brunette Susan. Both ladies were excellent but I was pulled out of the show momentarily wondering what each would be like in the other’s part. Terrific nonetheless. Humor was thoughtfully placed but the Flintstone jokes seemed forced and too many; however I imagine it’s accurate as they got most everything factually correct. Lavaliere mics would help in a few places.

My overall impression

Brilliant show. Great approach to a somewhat taboo subject. There are some phenomenal songs that I suspect will find life outside the musical. Hummable, toe tapping, memorable songs in a Manson musical, hilarious. Music is spot on for the period, singing is stellar. Band is fantastic. Strongest moments for me were the building harmonies. When everyone on stage was singing together it was electrifying. The humor was thoughtfully placed and appreciated. Cast is top notch. Well done. I hope it goes beyond this festival.
