What I liked

A wonderful ensemble. A great and smart use of Fringe resources to imagine this story. From the moment you see the clothesline at the start of the show, you know this is going to be something special.

What I didn't like

It felt on the long side. In my opinion, the impact of this production could be captured in 40-45 minutes.

My overall impression

This production is doing such important work for the visibility of marginalized performers. It takes a century-upon-century old tale and uses the bodies of 2018 to tell it, all the while pulling the audience along a heart pounding story. If you are looking to support the work of women, the work of people of color, and the work of people using theatre to reinvent our preconceived notions of how classics are told, seeing this work by Project Nongenue is a must.
