What I liked
Superb, high-energy cast kept the action, dialogue flowing. The six actors and director Eric White do a terrific job with comedic timing, nuanced nods. Minimal props, full costumes, and musical score added to the campiness. I appreciate the suspended reality and imaginative concept of two warring cultures: “In the year 2030 A.D. the world broke” is a terrific line.
What I didn't like
Wish it were a bit longer and the background info was read aloud to the audience. Possibly, this choice had to do with time constraints and didn’t detract from the world building — rather, it was an extra bit of info. I was able to read the program and felt prepared to enter this imaginative world before the performance began.
My overall impression
Best half-hour frolic I’ve had in quite a while! Faced-paced, surreal comedy about tenuous bonds between Furries and Cannibals. I found playwright Karen Bram Casady’s dystopian society weirdly fun and her characters darkly familiar in regards to tribal populism, consumer culture (!) and irreverent humor.
