Three blind dates — no problem, right? A Navy vet meets a woman with convictions about everything from cannibalism to the crucifixion. Then East meets West as a beautiful Russian encounters a Fox-news-loving cable man. Finally, in a coffee house a lonely man meets a femme fatale.

These one-act plays have won acclaim in the LaBute New Theater Festival, NYC and St. Louis; the Midtown International Theatre Festival, NYC; the Eclectic Company Theatre, LA; the Nantucket Short Play Festival; the Segora One Act Play Competition, France; the Belper Best Play Prize, UK; and the One Festival, London.

Praise for John’s work:

“Hilariously on target!” Adam Rothenberg, Call Me Adam

“uncommonly thoughtful” Zachary Stewart, TheaterMania

“. . . reminiscent of the sensibilities of Elaine May, Jules Feiffer and Christopher Durang.” Darryl Reilly, TheaterScene

“This was the best thing I saw all night, the humour perfectly dry and the tone precisely nailed down.” William McGeogh, London City Nights

“As zany as some of the lines are, the script rings true as an accurate depiction of the ways we fumble for human connection in this era of disconnection.” Adrienne Urbansky, TheEasy

“. . . a web of dialogue in which the characters appear by turns to fiercely dominate and then submit to one another through light, impersonal small-talk . . . a story of Hitchcockian scope.” Sloan Rollins, EDGE New York

“. . . an engaging, jarring play.” Tina Farmer, Station KDHX, St. Louis

The play inspired by Jay-Z's 4:44. Brothers test and bare each other’s vulnerabilities dealing with their parents death. Often hilarious, intensely dramatic, and unapologetically honest. 4 brothers, 4 different views, 4 secrets revealed.
