I liked the deep dive into the personal, the raw high and low emotions evoked with compelling storytelling and simple sound efx and set pieces.
What I didn't like
Clearer separation via brighter or colored lighting when going into existential/ dream phone call and when her mind is making her believe Rebecca’s still alive in restaurant.
My overall impression
Thank goodness art, in all its expressions, releases pressure on the heart when too much pressure or pain is laid on it. If a scab must be ripped off, no better than with a sharp wit that can, before you finish dabbing tears away, make a smile break across your face – that is what Danna Schaeffer does. She takes you on a heartbreaking yet jovial journey through stages of loss from the perspective of a parent who not only lost a daughter violently, but had to grieve and cope in Hollywood’s glare. Be prepared to be jolted and perhaps to shed a few tears, but you will leave the theater thankful and inspired.
