What I liked
Sarah was meant to do this show. Her extremely unique personality would make ANYONE want to talk and get to know her, so the fact that she shares her story with us is a literal treat.
Hilarity, struggle and a real sense of innocence keep you wide-eyed as you watch her interpret her life’s chapters up until this point.
I love how Sarah is naturally hysterical without trying. She literally is who she is, which is a delight.
She covers a vast range of topics, including sexuality, religion, mental health, extrasensory perception, relationships. I also love the various ways that she expresses her musical talents.
Wholeheartedly, watching “Squirrel” has made me believe that Sarah should have her own show for life – and that she would have the freedom to do whatever she wants with it.
What I didn't like
While it may seem like a cop-out answer, this show can’t be improved. Or it shouldn’t be. While this show is WILDLY entertaining, the honesty behind it is so gripping, poignant, and will mean something to each person who watches this show.
My overall impression
My overall impression is “holy hell.” I knew the show was going to be entertaining and hilarious, but I wasn’t prepared for how it would also affect me down to my core. Wholeheartedly, this is a show that shouldn’t be missed. Nowhere does it fall flat. Sarah Rose Reynold’s talents are mind boggling, but the way she tells her story keeps you so interested, that you almost forget it’s only one human performing on the stage. I have never seen a live show that was equal parts hysterical and tragically honest. Sarah lays it all out on the table and it’s a damn feast for everyone who is present.
