What I liked

The performance was very real from a clearly skilled actress. She was able to make me feel sadness and humor. She has a great range of emotions and abilities. Her writing plays like an beautiful prose-poem. The use of language, word choices and rhythm were impressive.

What I didn't like

I found the piece too short and personally thought there was too much video and voice over. This was only because I wanted to see more of Butterfly’s excellent performance and writing.

My overall impression

Butterfly, through performance, voice over and video, takes us on a short journey of a woman who wakes up to her grandmothers’ voices in a room, which is actually her subconscious. She deals with her past, her fear, her anger and ultimately conquers them.
