Excellent show. The work was insightful and gave a very fresh perspective of the black women's experience. Something to be seen no matter who you are. So awesome to hear and see a seldom heard perspective from an African lens. I went in excited and got even more than I expected and left feeling touched and moved by the work. This is the most authentic, heartfelt, moving piece of theater I've seen in a very long time. Camille Jenkins brought everything she had to this piece, and it did not disappoint. Her cast was magnificent. These "goddesses" were beautiful, full of love, righteous anger, compassion & hope. This is the reason FRINGE scholarships are so important. A masterful job. This is not only a play, but an experience of healing as a people - through dance, heart, texture, allegory, shape, and myth. All of these are used as tools to tell us, as an audience, that despite our specific hardships we still are such an infinitesimal part of an astronomically bigger whole. The beauty shines through the story told through dance in a way that transcends the normal theatre experience to salve our own tribulations, and give our role meaning in the state of the world. You will leave your seat truly feeling you were given a message by goddesses as if they came to life on your mantle-piece. The ultimate message they send you will leave the theatre with: that you are never a victim and only "a survivor."... full review
