What I liked

I liked the clever staging and the use of multi-media and simple, yet effective props. Changing her accents and body language, you know immediately what character she is being at any given time.

What I didn't like

Some of the words either went too fast or dropped down in tone and volume so I didn’t get some of them. Other than that, Laura’s interpretation of her own life’s events gives us hope that we, too, can, at any time in our lives, wake up and take responsibility for our lives, even when it isn’t our faults. It’s a way of becoming clear and free of whatever abuses, mistakes, choices we make or have happened to us.

My overall impression

This is the second time I’ve seen the show, first time in its expanded version. It’s very smart, funny, infuriating, sad, happy all at the same time! It’s a triumph of taking responsibilities for the choices one makes in life, even before one knows they WERE choices! Laura does a masterful job of playing so many characters from her own life’s story. She doesn’t defend her choices but shines a light on how to deal with them, even when some of them were perpetrated by others.
