What I liked

I especially liked the strong performance of the lead actress (who is also the writer/director) Peerada Meemalayath. To her credit, she plays the character with great honesty and vulnerability…allowing the audience to experience some of the trauma visited upon victims of human trafficking.

What I didn't like

It was a rather short performance. 35 minutes. More time could’ve been invested in developing the characters. We never followed a progression of watching the lead character over time attempting to emotionally and psychologically process her new reality, nor to witness the longer term consequences. We never get past the early stage of her abduction. It’s as if we’re only witnessing the first day or two of her ordeal.

My overall impression

An engaging and riveting show about females kidnapped in their early teens and then forced into a life of prostitution. The lead actress (who also wrote and directed,) Peerada Meemalayath, gives a powerfully honest and emotionally wrenching performance. Very realistic and heartbreaking! It is serious material about a difficult subject. Painful to watch at times…but very worthwhile. This important topic is handled nicely and it packs some powerful emotional gut punches! I recommend it!
