I loved the simplicity and the familiarity of the setting. We all know what it’s like to hang out in a bar/restaurant, and to wonder where our kale salad is! The moment of the 4 cell phones killed me.
What I didn't like
All the cast were very present and gave very endearing and intimate performances. However, I think the stakes could be higher. Perhaps higher volume and pace might raise the audience’s engagement.
My overall impression
Tracey and Zach have written a wonderful slice-of-life play. I was moved by each character’s POV and their unique and sincere interactions with one another. The conversations were thought-provoking and relevant. It’s a play about simple human connection, how we crave and sabotage it in our day-to-day lives. Loved it!
