What I liked
Ella does an outstanding job of making eye contact with those in the audience, which is a must for a smaller venue like this one. Her voice impersonation of various people in her life were really good and fun. And that Salt n’ Peppa dance tho!
What I didn't like
Beats me. GREAT PERFORMANCE!
My overall impression
I always knew how much work black women and girls could put into their hair. What I didn’t understand is why. This show does a GREAT job at showing the depths hair decisions have for many in that community and how those play out either consciously or unconsciously. Being a white male with a close shaved haircut, I don’t think I’ll ever grasp the full of scope of this topic, but because of this show I definitely have a greater understanding of it.
