What I liked

It was such a pleasure to be able to catch this taste of the full Firelight show after missing it’s previous run(s). The beautiful simplicity of the staging made me feel comfortable, as if I were smoothly participating in the narrative; what more can you ask from immersive theatre?

I particularly enjoyed the semi-proscenium style; you are an included member of every scene, but it was understood that your active and vocal participation was not wholly necessary. The actors conveyed what your part in the narrative was without needed to be direct or hold hands with the participants.

What I didn't like

We had some participants who didn’t seem to understand when the experience began or ended. Perhaps more of a comment on audience etiquette than a criticism of the performance.

My overall impression

I found myself so affected, particularly by “Light,” that I needed time to decompress afterwards. Feury and Keyes have collected a talented company that conveys deep human emotion often without speaking. I’d highly recommend this experience.
