• I thought that Imani brought great depth to her characterizations and she has a beautiful voice and such great command of her physical instrument.
• I liked the transitions between characters, the approach was simple, clean and inventive.
• I loved the use of the set/prop piece that became multiple items in the course of the story – it works on so many levels.
What I didn't like
I don’t know that there was anything that I didn’t like, BONEWOMAN is such a great setup for an evening of storytelling. I am sure that as Imani continues to share and develop this play it will only hone and focus its scope to be even more delightful.
My overall impression
BONEWOMAN is a beautiful evening of storytelling: lyrical, dark, poetic, wonderfully acted and engaging. I personally did not know much on the folklore and mythology of bones so I found it very interesting. This performance reminds me of the atmosphere we would create telling spooky stories around a campfire when I was young.
