What I liked
The voices of these performers are sublime. Some of the absolute best singing I’ve ever witnessed at the Fringe.
What I didn't like
I would be interested to see if some short scenes might help connect us to the storyline and the characters. There were definitely narrative elements at play. Some were easier to follow than others.
My overall impression
Ranging from raucous to rocking to rollicking to dismal to dreary, Psychosical reminds its captive audiences that we all might have a few more screws loose than perhaps we like to think we do. Through the lens of a jukebox musical, 2 Cents tells their story only through familiar popular music and carries us along for the duration of the play by the sheer force of fantastic vocalists.
