What I liked

Mr. Ebenstein’s comedic timing is impeccable. His story is authentic, deeply touching, relatable and hopeful. “Pain in My Asperger’s” more than entertains, it sensitizes and educates the community-at- large of the existence and experiences of an often-marginalized sub-population of high functioning spectrumites. He correctly reveals the reality that “Aspies” like him provide the rest of the more conformist world with creative, alternate perspectives and that without people on the spectrum, there wouldn’t be much progress or trail-blazing.

Thankfully, society is just starting to recognize the value that neurodiverse Aspies bring to the table. Hopefully more people will come to see this pay, to understand, empathize and open-up opportunities to those on the spectrum, despite perceived occasional social miss-steps.

What I didn't like

Use of a microphone and amplifier would make the production even classier than it already is.

My overall impression

I had the pleasure of seeing this one-man musical play with my 16 year-old-daughter last night. It was exceptionally performed by actor Jeremy Ebenstein, who no only seamlessly taps into his own Asperger* traits while portraying himself during different phases of life, but also quickly transforms into other completely believable characters that richly illustrate challenges experienced as a male on the spectrum.

Highly recommended for high school students, educators, healthcare providers, and human beings in general.
