What I liked

Claire Bronchick and Joel Sutton each approach their respective characters with sensitivity and skill, effectively portraying the historic couple’s complexity and humanity. Joel Sutton’s performance as Clyde Barrow reveals the character’s depth and intricacy, particularly during his monologues, while Claire Bronchick achieves deft subtlety and duality as Bonnie Parker even in moments of silence.

What I didn't like

I am on the fence about the usage of the viola; at times I felt it greatly enhanced the tone of the scene, but at other times it seemed unnecessary. Ultimately, though, I think it contributes positively to the piece as a whole.

My overall impression

A rich piece of theatre that allows the audience to see the infamous pair in a more intimate and humane light than that which history usually paints them in. I applaud the actors for their careful consideration of the dichotomy between these two people, which was beautifully illustrated throughout the performance.
