Besides the stories themselves, I thought it was beautiful how the stories wove together through movement and economy. It made the whole night feel like a tale around a fireplace, foretelling the dangers of the world or the sins of humans.
What I didn't like
I wish that this show was actually in the round. I think it would have been staged beautifully and very interesting to see every angle of these very real, beautiful moments.
My overall impression
The Urban Theatre Movement delivers with a night of stories that gave me everything I want out of the theatre; eccentric, well-crafted characters, dynamic relationships, engaging moments, and to the point. There isn’t any fat within these 4 one act plays, beautifully woven together with poetry by Alex Alparaoh. They are to the point and offer a compelling glimpse at 4 different walks of life that, whether familiar or alien, was relatable and visceral.
