What I liked
I really liked the concept and message of the play… preserving Shakespeare and his characters as they were written, not trying to water it down for the lowest common denominator. Its was unexpectedly moving, but also clever and fun and funny, not preachy. The actors were fantastic, especially impressed with the 2 young actors (12 and 13 years old) who are themselves part of a young Shakespeare troupe in LA.
What I didn't like
It was just a little rough at points, with a lot of action and dialogue that got a bit jumbled at times. If they had maybe 15 more minutes and were able to slow it down a tad, I think it would have been even better.
My overall impression
Overall I really enjoyed the play, and am curious abut the 2 other parts of the “Spoken” trilogy now. Would be great to someday offer the 3 plays all together.
