June 4th: Yesterday I went to see my friend Keith Barber perform in a play called “UNSPOKEN” at the Underground Theater for the Hollywood Fringe Festival. It’s a one-hour new play. About a dozen minor ignored Shakespeare characters are being held in the “International Shakespeare Green Room” and have to justify their existence to The Committee and why they should not be cut from future performances of “the canon.” It’s surprisingly moving especially when it touches on the theme of “The Forgotten Man & Woman”: should we be cut from life just because our contributions may seem minor to others?
What I didn't like
Nothing. I even scored a killer parking place in front of the theater.
My overall impression
It’s only an hour, cheap ticket, funny, well-written, well-acted, touching, and worth seeing. Two thumbs up.
