The Amitycode – Hollywood Fringe Festival Review
By Harrison Held

I had a terrific time at the Hollywood Fringe Festival last night watching the 10 pm performance of the must see play The Amitycode written by and starring the talented Devin Crittenden at the intimate Stephanie Feury Theatre on Melrose in Larchmont Village. What a great showcase for him and the entire cast.

The Amitycode is set in a modern day San Francisco apartment of a likeable and lonely engineering genius named Pete (Devin Crittenden) who was recently dumped. It’s a really great fast moving funny thought provoking 60 minute piece – the talented winning cast also stars Morgan Matthews as sexy Exa, Ky Soto as the cool best friend Trip and Sara Elizabeth Johnston as the pretty ex-girlfriend Samantha. Written by Devin Crittenden

Directed by Nick Cimiluca

The Amitycode is a play about love and how the loss of it, at least for some of us, can do some strange things to our ability to blur the lines we draw emotionally, ethically and even physically.

Pete is a brilliant robotics engineer and when his girlfriend Samantha leaves him after a six-year relationship and after he stalks her for months trying desperately to get her back, his best friend Trip jokingly suggests

BROADWAY WORLD -- THE AMITYCODE

June 09, 2017

A new dark comedy, The AmityCode tells the story of Pete, a brilliant robotics engineer, who, after being dumped by his girlfriend, builds a robot to replace her. But he may have programmed his creation too well. As our society continues to replace more and more with technology, this play asks the question: at what point does it become detrimental to us? What makes us human? And finally, why love is the last part of our lives that technology cannot, and should not, replace?
