What I liked
Funny, touching and unexpected, Robert De Niro Is Older Than Me is a fresh, unique take on a one-man show – and not just because there are three people in it. Writer and star Sy Rosen narrates through a series of stories on the challenges of getting older in Hollywood. His stories are relatable, sometimes cringe-worthy, and always laugh out loud funny. The narrative also takes an honest look at his relationship with his mom – somehow balancing between heartwarming, heart breaking and hilarious all at the same time. Sy’s performance is complemented by his co-stars, Deborah Geffner and Robert Romanus who expertly take on dozens of roles – transforming from a pair of plagiarizing sitcom writers to a pair of waddling ducks. The pace of the show is fast and fun. We loved it.
