A play that is able to establish each character as well as tell the story within 45 minutes is a feat in itself. And “Welcome to Heretofore” accomplishes the task.
Steve Nevel is not only a master of his craft as a playwright, but is as adept as an actor.
The story is simple as is the set: a cabin out West following the Gold Rush. But it’s the interaction of the three characters that’s most engrossing, and thanks to the humor, it moves at a lively pace.
Good direction by Elayne Heilveil!
