What I liked

I liked much about this show. The script was intelligent and witty and the storyline well-rounded. The cast representations of stereotyped characters worked for me because none of them was annoyingly over-the-top and it didn’t seem like any of the actors were fighting for all of the attention. They worked well as an ensemble. The music was delightful, the lyrics bold and unapologetic.

What I didn't like

I would like to see this production evolve. I think the company would do well in a larger space, with access to more advanced lighting, sound, and a more permanent set (although I was pleasantly surprised at how much I didn’t notice the minimalism as the show stood on it’s own). I think this show could be fleshed out to twice as long and I would still want more!

My overall impression

I had such a great time at this show! With our current political times, a recent breakup, and some bad health news, I really just needed to get out of my head for a bit and laugh…this show was a perfect remedy. It was fun, silly, and well-crafted. I actually attended community college in the late 90s, and this show really took me back to that oh-so-confusing time in my life! I would recommend this to friends and colleagues.
