What I liked

The body parts flying through the audience were pretty fantastic.

What I didn't like

My overall impression

This is a super fun and campy show – -a great choice for a late night performance. I’m barely a low grade slasher movie fan, but this isn’t a show where any real knowledge of the genre is necessary so don’t skip it if you’re on the edge. It’S Laugh out Loud funny, consistently – the story moves along with everything dying off as should be expected – you’re out of this one in 45 minutes which is the perfect length for the spirit of the show. The songs are very short and I don’t feel like the show tries (at all) to be a piece of “musical theatre” which is why I’m ok with the campy nature of the music. It works and it’s all constructed well.

The killers song was a standout as well as the last surviving female character, and little snippets of solos confirm that there are a lot of talented vocalists in this show, but there is this major commitment to this raucous 80s horror vibe right down to the way the songs are sung. I’d categorize this show more as a comedy than a musical in that regard.

Worth your time but good luck getting a ticket for this fringe hit! Hack hack chop chop – the stuff that goes flying when people are chopped was a riot. I’d go for a repeat. Or a sequel. Ooh, do a sequel!
