What I liked

The music, set design, and soundscape really set a nice tone for this piece; you’ll feel like you’re in the big city. It made me miss New York! The actors intelligently manage to turn gangsters into sympathetic characters. I enjoyed that the piece revolves around a time period of life that isn’t often touched upon by Fringe shows.

What I didn't like

A little more play with the lighting could enhance the changing levels of the narrative.

My overall impression

This one-act play establishes an easy, relaxing tone for the audience that transports you to another place and time. The actors have developed a dynamic relationship that feels natural and well-earned. And Three Clubs has the perfect ambience for this mobster drama, with its plush red velvet and in-theater bar.
