I liked the exploration of the different relationships one has with family members, romantic partners and one’s own chosen profession in the arts. It was comedic and light, but not without heart and poignancy. I also enjoyed the creative multiple uses of the props.
What I didn't like
The most engaging moments were the moments of authenticity and I would have enjoyed more moments of raw honesty and self-reflection.
My overall impression
Nurse Asistio was a fun and engaging look into the personal and career life of its creator. It explores the (often tense and intense) mother daughter relationship, hopeful and foiled romantic relationships and the passionate yet ambivalent love-hate battle one has with a career in the arts. The piece had great pacing and moved forward with comedic and touching moments.
