Not Your Average Shakespeare
Full Circle Players, an Inland Empire based company, has come together and put the words of Shakespeare in a new light. While many seek to portray Shakespearean works in their traditional setting, the group has created a movement based devised theatre piece to explore the humanity within Shakespeare. Inspired by shows such as Sleep No More, Ritual seeks to show all aspects of humanity through the famous words of the bard. The themes of revenge, betrayl, hurt, love, and sacrifice shine through his words and the dynamic sharing. For those who love Shakespeare and experimental theatre, this show is a must see!
Ritual, a dynamic, guttural, raw devised movement piece will be making its debut at this summer’s Fringe. Ritual utilizes the works of Shakespeare in order to present a mirror image of society in its totality. The piece explores both well ordered and distorted rituals revolving around death and dying, transference of power, marriage, and communication.
