What I liked
I really loved the play, it’s totally my cup of tea, it was edgy, it was funny, it was in-your-face, and it was engaging. All of the characters were really specific and had clear wants and traits. The acting all around was really good, all of the actors approached their roles with so much commitment and was clearly very connected to their characters. There were many moments in the play when I was able to deeply empathize with the characters and felt like I was right there feeling the emotions they were feeling.
What I didn't like
Nothing comes to mind, I’d love to see this as a full length 2-hour play, it’s a wonderful concept.
My overall impression
It’s great when you can see a play that is totally up your alley, and Penetration really was that for me. I really appreciate the play’s willingness to push the boundaries, exploring challenging subject material, and exposing the characters flaws and strengths both in a really complex way. I found the play really relatable, and I imagine most others would as well, it can be really hard balancing your own wants and the wants that everyone else projects onto you and wants you to uphold. There is some excellent writing and acting here, I really recommend this play.
