What I liked

The characters all around had very distinct and different voices and they all had interesting and often times very funny quirks. The writing is witty and there are some great one liners. The quick turn around setting of Fringe can sometimes hinder a show, but this dark comedy utilized the clearly put together set extremely well, with some characters even commenting on this fact inside the play. The use of music ranging from Broadway show tunes to classic love rock ballads complemented the show.

What I didn't like

Not anything I particularly disliked, but there seemed to be a couple of moments that slowed the show down, but I have a feeling that by the time this show opens this cast will be in their prime.

My overall impression

The writing was quick and funny and it reflected in the actors portraying these characters. The ensemble seemed in the moment the entire time, which i thought was incredible because some of the subject matter in this dark comedy gets pretty… well… dark, yet it never loses its gritty humor. All in all, The Bakery is a laugh out loud, yet startlingly accurate commentary on the world we live in today and the struggles humans face when we live in a world filled with terrible people.
