My overall impression

Thought provoking and poignant! Lyman definitely makes the audience relate to how easily any of us could have ended up on a different path. Also, the show does a great job of raising awareness for homelessness and for homeless veterans.

The second and third vignette are especially engaging. They’re played in a grounded, down-to-earth fashion, which doesn’t over sentimentalize the very heavy material explored. In these vignettes we get to know and like Lyman. The ending helped the production come full circle and tied the story together nicely.

The Hollywood Fringe version of this play is selected scenes of a larger production. I’d like to see the full length show for sure! The production did a good job of creating a concise story from a much larger project.
