What I liked

Psychosexual was able to talk about love and relationships in a more mature style, it dealt with problems in relationships and sudden attractions to others that feel more akin to reality rather than fiction. The characters were well written, all of them were given very strong wants which gave them very clear motivations. The actors portrayal of these characters was entertaining, watching the nuances that the actors brought to the stage helped to further flesh out the characters. The songs in the play were very well composed and written, in fact there are a couple of ear worms scattered throughout the show.

What I didn't like

Some of the choreography for some of the dance numbers didn’t exactly mesh well with the overall vision of the play, as there were some dance numbers where the choreography made me very aware that the actors were “dancing”. My other dispute is that the soundtrack uses synthetic instruments for its songs which is understandable but disappointing as the rich full sounds that actual instruments can give would’ve been appreciated, especially since the actors all have such beautiful voices.

My overall impression

The problems that Psychosexual has are minor, especially for the message that it gets across, the talent that is on display, and the fun writing. Overall, I feel that Psychosexual is an enthralling comedic musical that if your a fan of musicals with a good message, you should go and see.
