What I liked

Very entertaining—which, you know, is what you want when you attend a performance. Ms. Varda has a commanding presence and an affecting facility for inhabiting the different personas she portrays. Her songs, like the rest of the show, were witty and well-performed, and she enunciated them well—something that’s all too often neglected in others’ performances. The bass player and her interactions with him were lagniappe.

What I didn't like

I thought the show bogged down a bit during the be yourself/be somebody else number—seemed to lose a little energy there.

My overall impression

A brisk, thought-provoking, and very enjoyable entertainment. Ms. Varda is a sharp, warm, funny performer. Glad I went and certainly recommend seeing it.
