TONY DANZA’S LETTERZ 2 2PAC: AN EVENING WITH TONY DANZA is a unique one-man show created and performed by Steven Benaquist (Dreamworks ‘Fishstick & Honeybear’, NPR’s ‘American Parlor Songbook, The Meltdown w/ Jonah & Kumail) and directed by Joe Wagner (UCB’s ‘Midnight Show’, HBO’s ‘Brody Stevens: Enjoy It!’). LETTERZ made its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival where it won the Producers Encore! Award and enjoyed packed houses in its extended run.
Tony Danza has been a lot of things in his life: Professional boxer, sitcom star, tap dancer, talk show host, high school teacher. He was also penpal to 2Pac Shakur, writing the rapper when he was in prison. Though the two did not know each other, Shakur wrote back, and a correspondence developed. Now only Mr. Danza knows the contents of those letters, but LETTERZ 2 2PAC tries to imagine what they might have contained… and what it would look like if Tony Danz

TONY DANZA’S LETTERZ 2 2PAC: AN EVENING WITH TONY DANZA, a one-man show created and performed by Steven Benaquist makes its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival for five performances.
Tony Danza has been a lot of things in his life: Professional boxer, sitcom star, tap dancer, talk show host, teacher. He also reached out to 2Pac Shakur, writing the rapper when he was in prison. Though the two did not know each other, Shakur wrote back, and a correspondence developed. Now only Mr. Danza knows the contents of those letters, but LETTERZ 2 2PAC tries to imagine what they might have contained… and what it would look like if Tony Danza himself put on a one-man show about it.
