Well-known Mindy Kaling writing about w.k. Matt Damon and w.k. Ben Affleck a quarter-century ago, just before they were famous, drew me in. What I never expected was to find a GIRL playing Matt (AND J D Salinger) and another GIRL playing Ben (AND Gwyneth Paltrow)! !!! This surprising stunt actually works well---but the vehicle itself goes on and on and on far beyond its expiration point. A nice half-hour SNL sketch is stretched to 75 minutes, too tepid to sustain itself that long. PS ANOTHER Fringe show that won't give out programs so that you won't know who's to blame!...

It was terrific. The decision to cast the male roles with women gave the play just the touch of absurdity it needed for us to enthusiastically jump on this ride. The women's performances were terrific! The alternate history was so well-crafted, I heard someone commenting as I left the theater that she didn't realize that's how it happened! :) The pacing is tight, the jokes well-delivered, the story silly and raucous. This is a solid play, and should have a life outside its limited run at the Fringe! Highly recommended....

I had no idea what this performance was all about and from seeing the picture, and knowing who Matt and Ben are............I was expecting two guys. When I saw that the parts were being performed by two women, I was a bit skeptical. These two women "knock it out of the park." Wonderful chemistry between the two of them; just like the real Matt and Ben!!...
