Labitity Tackles Labels, Titles, and Identity

Los Angeles, CA – May 4, 2016 — Comedian Kay Monroe offers a hard-hitting take on race, gender, and sexuality in the world premiere of new play Labitity. The preview show will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Theatre of Note.

Written by and starring Philadelphia native Katrina Joli, the controversial comedy features a stand-up routine that becomes an “authentic experience” via the use of vignettes acted out by a diverse cast. Previously, Joli successfully produced Underneath, a feature film that debuted in festivals as far as South Africa. Her original stage play Kathy’s Daughter made its premiere in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2011.

The show will also be the directorial debut of actress and writer Erin McIntosh. McIntosh has been in over thirteen theatrical productions, most recently appearing in Celebration Theatre’s Dream Boy and the San Diego premiere of The Whale by Samuel Hunter. Sh
