What I liked

Denise Carol was a stand out. I appreciated the work she put into her performance. As for the writing, I thought the reveal of why she was even there was well done.

What I didn't like

My biggest concern was with the last line of the play. It would have worked if there was a second act. It opened the door for the story to be about redemption, but instead it felt like an unnecessary bombshell. As an audience member, I felt confused. And for the character, I felt it was a cruel way to leave her; shredded and without repair.

My overall impression

God’s Waiting Room is exactly why there are fringe festivals. It’s a great way to try out new work and see where it goes. I left thinking there is a lot of potential for this story.
