An impressive theatrical feat. Who would have thought that theater and cage fighting would meld together so hilariously.... full review

Serial Killers is a staple at Sacred Fools Theater and they are doing a special Fringe version consisting of five rounds. By its very nature it is a #ChanceItLA. because you will be seeing brand new works and voting on who is good enough to move forward. That being said, the last performance on June 25th is practically guaranteed to be good since it will be the best of all the previous shows. The night that I attended there were five episodes and I was only a fan of two of them. However, one of those two - “Kitty!” - was hysterical. The good news is that they’re all short and the host in between each piece, Terry Tocantins, is delightfully manic. So #DrinkBeforeIt and give it a chance. There will be at least one gem in the mix. Likely more... full review

I saw the final showdown between two formidable shows: Rebecca Larsen's "Kitty" and Lauren Van Kurin and Amber Ruffin's, "My Father, My Husband..." Funny, exciting, and competitive. A fun night of theater. ... full review

The nature of this show places it firmly in #ChanceItLA purgatory; with its (sometimes) better half #DrinkBeforeItLA. This is because you truly don’t know what you’re going to get. The premise is fun and simple – an audience will watch snippets from 5 plays, vote, and only 3 will live to see the stage another day. This is repeated with another 5 plays, and then the top 6 plays left go against each other and will be voted down through multiple performances until one show is the winner. In theory, going to "Serial Killers" at a later date will mean you’re going to see the best plays offered. This is a special Hollywood Fringe version put on by the Sacred Fools Theater Company. I think this could be a great way for those of who don’t norm... full review

This is the Fringe version of a long-time Sacred Fools tradition- five short plays enter, and the audience votes on which three return for another installment. [Eventually the best will face-off and a winner declared]. Terry Tocantins hosted with a Mad Hatter energy, shouting out production credits somewhat needlessly, since that same info was in the program. The shows ran the gamut from filthy musical to time-traveling detective to horror to sci-fi and romantic-comedy. While the writing was a mixed bag, the acting was almost oddly fantastic across the board. I did correctly pick the eventual winners, and I'd be curious to see how those stories advance- thus, the devious allure of Serial Killers.... full review
