With fast-paced and wide-ranging sketches, this zany show has something for everyone. I liked that the actresses took risks by playing dozens of unique characters with distinct dialects, genders and attitudes and addressing all kinds of topics, from sex to race to orange juice. Some of the funniest moments, however, came when they simply played themselves and bantered with each other and the audience. They use minimalist costumes and props to their full potential, and despite the small ensemble and even smaller budget manage to fill the theater with a contagious energy that will make the time fly by.
What I didn't like
Some of the sketches tried to extend a single joke one or two lines too far, and others seemed to rely on wacky (and sometimes unrealistic) accents and characters to provide the laughs rather than the action of the scene. The dance break at the end was also a bit underwhelming, and needed more energy and goofiness to be a fitting climax to what came before. Still, overall, the show had more highlights than low-lights.
My overall impression
Though there are a few moments of forced humor, this jam-packed hour of smart and highly original comedy is definitely worth seeing. The actresses connect with each other and their audience masterfully, cycling through a plethora of characters and scenarios without every losing the energy that makes watching them so enjoyable. Bravo!
