What I liked
The actors, particularly Jessica, created very full and sympathetic characters. Even though we’re “told” very little about them beyond their stance on marriage, we’re “shown” a great deal of their humanity, and as a result I cared deeply for them.
What I didn't like
Based on the promotional materials (title, poster image, blurb), I expected to see a very different show than what I actually saw. In one way that’s a great thing, because I found the play a lot savvier and more thought-provoking than I had expected — but I think if the play were marketed slightly differently, it might pull in an audience eager to think as well as be entertained.
My overall impression
Outstanding performances, writing that crackled with humor and vitality. A two-person show about a single subject that kept me fully engrossed from lights up to curtain.
